Maywood, Ill.-based Loyola Medicine and Palos Health in Palos Heights, Ill., have called off merger discussions after signing a nonbinding letter of intent in January.
Loyola Medicine and Palos Health didn't say why they decided to end talks, but they did note that existing partnerships between the organizations will continue.
Loyola and Palos established an academic clinical affiliation in 2015, and they collaborate in several areas, including a telestroke program and jointly owned ambulatory surgery and radiation oncology centers.
