The Illinois health board has signed off on a proposed affiliation between Des Moines-based Iowa Health System and Peoria, Ill.-based Methodist Health Services, according to an IHS news release.
The Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board approved a Certificate of Exemption, allowing the deal to move forward. The two organizations are scheduled for formal affiliation Oct. 1, when they plan to begin joint operations.
With Board approval, MHSC will be allowed to operate as the eighth senior affiliate of IHS upon the closing of the transaction.
