Idaho AG approves St. Joseph Regional Medical Center transition to RCCH HealthCare Partners

The Idaho attorney general approved the proposed transition of Lewiston, Idaho-based St. Joseph Regional Medical Center to Brentwood, Tenn.-based RCCH HealthCare Partners Monday after a six-month review.

St. Joseph Regional Medical Center previously belonged to St. Louis-based Ascension.

Under the terms of the agreement, Ascension will donate $23 million to an independent foundation created by the attorney general following the closing of the transaction. RCCH HealthCare Partners will contribute a $2 million donation to the foundation and an additional $57 million to provide up-to-date equipment, technology and ambulatory care facilities in the Lewiston area.

RCCH HealthCare Partners also signed an agreement to continue to provide the same level of charity care and to maintain the level of services currently provided as part of the transaction.

"We're looking forward to the associates and physicians of St. Joseph joining our 14,000 employees and 2,000 affiliated physicians and mid-level providers in providing outstanding community-based healthcare," said Martin Rash, chairman and CEO of RCCH HealthCare Partners. "We will live up to the trust that Ascension, St. Joseph and the Lewiston community have placed in us."
