Huntsville (Ala.) Hospital has announced a 40-year lease agreement to acquire Decatur (Ala.) General Hospital, according to a Hartselle Enquirer report.
Under the agreement, Huntsville Hospital-owned Parkway Medical Center in Decatur, Ala., and Decatur General will operate as one consolidated hospital under the name Decatur Morgan Hospital. Hartselle (Ala.) Medical Center, which closed in January due to financial struggles, was purchased by Huntsville in February and will be part of the hospital system as well, according to the report.
Dean Griffin, current CEO of Decatur General, will serve as president of Decatur Morgan Hospital, and Nat Richardson, current interim president of Parkway Medical Center, will become COO. Kim Shrewsbury, current CFO of Decatur General, will be CFO of Decatur Morgan.
