Pittsburgh-based Highmark Health plans to invest $115 million into Erie, Pa.-based Saint Vincent Hospital, according to the Pittsburgh Business Journal.
The funds will reportedly be used to construct an emergency department and an operating room suite on the hospital's campus.
Saint Vincent Hospital is owned by Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Health Network.
"Our vision and plans for the future of Saint Vincent Hospital represent another significant milestone in our organization's long history of support for the Erie community," said President and CEO of Highmark Health David Holmberg. "Serving the communities of northwestern Pennsylvania through our health plan, charitable foundations and provider network is a great privilege."
