Henry Ford Health System in Detroit and Beaumont Health System in Royal Oak, Mich., have formed a Merger Integration Task Force to lead the due diligence and integration process for the merger of the two systems.
In October, the organizations signed a letter of intent to merge, which includes combining all assets, liabilities and operations into a $6.4 billion organization under unified executive leadership.
The task force will be responsible for preparing a smooth and efficient transition to the new organization once the transaction is complete, according to a news release. Nancy Schlichting, CEO of Henry Ford Health, and Gene Michalski, CEO of Beaumont Health, will co-chair the task force. The other members include:
• Tom Brisse, executive vice president of operations at Beaumont
• Betty Chu, MD, elected president and physician in obstetrics and gynecology at Beaumont Health and member of the medical staff at Beaumont, Troy (Mich.) campus
• James Connelly, executive vice president of finance and CFO of Henry Ford Health
• Ananias Diokno, MD, executive vice president and CMO of Beaumont Health
• Joanna Pease, MD, vice president of medical affairs and CMO of Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, Mich.
• John Popovich Jr., MD, CEO of Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and CMO of Henry Ford Health
• Robert Riney, president and COO of Henry Ford Health
• Bill Schramm, senior vice president of strategic business development of Henry Ford Health
• Subra Sripada, executive vice president, chief administrative officer and CIO of Beaumont Health
• Nick Vitale, executive vice president and CFO of Beaumont Health
Beaumont and Henry Ford Health are also forming Shared Vision Teams that will specialize in certain areas of integration for the systems, such as academics/research, finance/risk management, nursing, post-acute health, human resources and safety and quality. The teams will consist of physicians, nurses and other caregivers and will report to the Merger Integration Task Force.
