Henry Ford Allegiance Health severs 23-year cancer partnership with Michigan Medicine

Jackson, Mich.-based Henry Ford Allegiance Health's cancer program severed its 23-year affiliation with Ann Arbor-based Michigan Medicine and struck a deal to join Detroit-based Henry Ford Cancer Institute Aug. 17, according to Crain's Detroit Business.

HFAH's partnership with the Henry Ford Cancer Institute includes a precision medicine initiative. HFAH will also gain access to Henry Ford's clinical trials, research programs and advanced care programs.

Additional terms of the deal were not disclosed.

HFAH joined Detroit-based Henry Ford Health System in April 2016.

"This transformational step truly gives us the opportunity to enhance our overall cancer care program and we're delighted to expand these services to the Jackson area and beyond," Henry Ford Health System President of Healthcare Operations and COO Bob Riney told Crain's Detroit Business. "Henry Ford is continuing to revolutionize cancer care and make these advancements accessible to patients across all of Michigan."
