Healthy Connections, which owns nine Arkansas clinics, plans to purchase De Queen (Ark.) Medical Center, according to ArkLaTexhomepage.com.
Just over a week ago, the hospital's electricity was turned off due to unpaid bills, and in December there were reports that employees had not been paid. City officials expressed relief about the hospital's sale.
"A couple of days ago we didn't even know if we were going to have a hospital," said Jeff Brown, mayor of De Queen.
