HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley, an integrated health system in New York, is unlikely to work out a tentative affiliation agreement with Valhalla, N.Y.-based Westchester Medical Center until at least October, according to The Daily Freeman, which cites information from HealthAlliance's Chief Strategy Officer Josh Ratner.
In the meantime, HealthAlliance and Westchester Medical Center continue to work together to hash out details of the affiliation, including its possible governance, Mr. Ratner told The Daily Freeman.
The proposed affiliation, under which Westchester Medical Center would become the sole corporate member of HealthAlliance, was announced back in January.
While HealthAlliance works toward an affiliation with Westchester Medical Center, it also expects an announcement in October on whether HealthAlliance would become the recipient of a $88 million grant to consolidate its hospital campuses on Mary's Avenue and Broadway in Kingston, N.Y. The money would also be used to turn the Broadway campus, formerly Kingston Hospital, into a medical village that would have the Institute of Family Health, which serves Medicaid patients, as an anchor tenant.
