Several potential buyers have expressed interest in purchasing one or all of Los Altos, Calif.-based Daughters of Charity Health System's hospitals, according to a San Jose Mercury News report.
The buyers' interest comes less than two weeks after Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare Services backed out of a deal to acquire the system's six hospitals.
Alecto Healthcare Services, a for-profit network based in Los Angeles, has shown interest in the hospitals, according to the report. The brother-in-law of Prem Reddy, MD, the founder and CEO of Prime, owns Alecto.
Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America and New York-based private equity firm Blue Wolf Capital are also interested in a deal with Daughters of Charity Health, according to the report.
Santa Clara County might pursue a deal to buy two of Daughters of Charity Health's hospitals — O'Conner Hospital in San Jose, Calif., and Saint Louise Regional Hospital in Gilroy, Calif.
