El Paso, Texas-based Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare, which is owned by Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare, acquired Highlands Rehabilitation Hospital, renaming it to the Las Palmas Del Sol Rehabilitation Hospital East, the El Paso Herald-Post reported Dec. 1.
The El Paso-based hospital will provide both inpatient and outpatient rehab services and will expand to 41 beds, which will all be private suites.
"As El Paso continues to grow, we are committed to providing resources that address patients' needs and provide the highest quality of healthcare services closer to home," Las Palmas CEO David Shimp said. "This acquisition will expand rehab services in our community and provide patients on the eastside with a comfortable environment and enhanced patient privacy, all led by a skilled, comprehensive rehabilitation team."
