Hays (Kan.) Medical Center, part of Kansas City-based The University of Kansas Health System, became the sole owner of St. Rose Health Center in Great Bend, Kansas, July 1.
As part of the agreement, Hays Medical also owns the land surrounding the health center.
John Jeter, MD, president and CEO of Hays Medical Center, said the hospital "will look to expand services, while evaluating campus expansion in the very near future … [but will] continue to evaluate all options, including the addition of hospital beds in Great Bend, and … the possibility of future expansion of the current [St. Rose] facility."
Dr. Jeter also noted St. Rose providers will have access to the latest advancements in treatment as a result of Hays Medical's relationship with The University of Kansas Health System.
Prior to obtaining sole ownership, Hays Medical served as managing partner and co-owner of St. Rose, alongside Centennial, Colo.-based Centura Health, since January 2015.
