Gulf Coast Medical Center Partners With Northwest Florida Community Hospital

Gulf Coast Medical Center, based in Panama City, Fla., and Chipley, Fla.-based Northwest Florida Community Hospital have signed a clinical affiliation agreement, according to a Washington County News and Holmes County Times-Advertiser report.

Under the agreement, both institutions will facilitate community and medical education programs. NFCH will also promote patient access to specialized clinical services at Gulf Coast, collaborate on knowledge exchanges between medical teams at both institutions and incorporate the best available medical practices to improve care.

"Gulf Coast Medical Center has for years been the most supportive and cooperative tertiary hospital that we work with," said Patrick A. Schlenker, chief executive officer at NFCH, according to the report. “This affiliation formalizes the outstanding relationship our two institutions have had in the past and hope to continue in the future."

NFCH, a 59-bed healthcare facility, includes a 25-bed critical access hospital, a 34-bed long-term care facility and a home health agency. Gulf Coast, a 176-bed acute care hospital, has a 250-member medical staff.
