Geisinger Health System in Danville, Pa., and Lewistown (Pa.) Hospital signed a non-binding letter of intent for a potential partnership.
Lewistown Hospital and Geisinger already work together in a variety of ways, including hospitalist, tele-stroke and tele-echo programs at Lewistown Hospital, according to the release. A multi-specialty Geisinger-Lewistown physician practice has served the local area since 1982 with offices in Lewistown and Juniata, Pa.
The organizations will now move into a due diligence process to explore potential enhancements to clinical programs through the partnership, which could take several months.
