The regulatory review of the Greensboro, N.C.-based Cone Health and Burlington, N.C.-based Alamance Regional Medical Center merger may take longer than expected since the Federal Trade Commission intends to ask for additional information, according to a Business Journal report.
The two organizations submitted the necessary filing to the FTC Aug. 28 and had hoped to complete the merger by Oct. 1. While Cone Health CEO Tim Rice knows that the FTC plans to request more information, he does not know what type of information is needed, when the formal request will come or how long the request could delay the regulatory review process, according to the report.
Cone Health and Alamance Regional announced their plan to merge in December.
