The Fallbrook (Calif.) Regional Health District board delayed the sale of its Fallbrook Hospital building to Sacramento, Calif.-based Crestwood Behavioral Health by extending escrow to Aug. 31, according to Fallbrook & Bonsall Village News.
The escrow extension was necessary to resolve issues with San Diego County regarding the hospital property, including a necessary lot line adjustment and a 1989 agreement with the county.
The 1989 agreement required the health district to make street improvements after the county approved an expansion project at the hospital campus. The street improvements were never made, Gordon Tinker, Fallbrook Regional Health District board president, said during a recent board meeting, according to the report.
Mr. Tinker proposed the health district establish a new escrow account and submit a design for the street improvements. The board unanimously passed his proposal.
The new escrow will close Aug. 31.
The district's bookkeeper estimates the health district will save $20,000 per month in overhead costs once the hospital is sold, according to the report.
