Person Memorial Hospital in Roxboro, N.C., has signed a memorandum of understanding to become the second hospital affiliated with Duke LifePoint Healthcare, a joint venture between Durham, N.C.-based Duke University Health System and Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Hospitals, according to Duke LifePoint news release.
The 110-bed hospital expects to arrange a deal within 90 days, according to the report. PMH has been managed by Duke Health for 13 years.
The Duke LifePoint joint venture has been making strides in the North Carolina healthcare market. It announced an agreement to acquire Henderson, N.C.-based Maria Parham Medical Center in February and in May it acquired nine heart labs from Charlotte, N.C.-based MedCath for $25 million.
