Aurora, Colo.-based UCHealth and Pueblo, Colo.-based Parkview Health System said July 12 they were delaying their tie-up because of unresolved "regulatory matters."
UCHealth told Becker's July 13 that the deal is still expected to close this year. It had originally been planned for mid-2023.
While federal authorities and the Colorado attorney general have approved the transaction, there is a state regulatory issue that needs to be resolved, UCHealth said. UCHealth has not yet responded to a question about what that specific regulatory issue is.
UCHealth is a 12-hospital system and has said it would invest $200 million into Parkview when the acquisition goes forward.
"Though Parkview has not joined UCHealth at this time, we continue to work toward the integration and anticipate that the merger will happen this year assuming we resolve all regulatory issues," a UCHealth spokesperson told Becker's.
