Elkins, W.Va.-based Davis Health System and Morgantown-based West Virginia University Hospitals are partnering to establish a new heart and vascular institute within DHS's new outpatient center, according to WDTV news.
The affiliation will provide even more community access to advanced diagnostics, expertise and resources in cardiology, pulmonology and vascular care, according to the article.
Both organizations will also work together to enhance medical and radiation oncology at the Davis MedicalCenter's Cancer Care Center, according to the article.
The organizations plan to file a certificate of need with the West Virginia Health Care Authority to garner approval for the proposed developments.
Officials said the new Heart and Vascular Institute will be open and ready to receive patients in January 2017.
