CMS Alliance to Modernize Healthcare gets boost from AcademyHealth: 3 things to know

The CMS Alliance to Modernize Healthcare has joined forces with AcademyHealth.

Here are three things to know.

1. Operated by The MITRE Corp., the CMS Alliance to Modernize Healthcare is a federally funded research and development center, according to a news release. Nonprofit AcademyHealth is a professional organization that aims to improve health and the healthcare system "by supporting the production and use of evidence to inform policy and practice," the release states.

2. The partnership will support the CMS alliance by making sure the organization has the latest and best evidence as it takes on some of the nation's toughest challenges related to health and health IT at CMS and HHS, according to the release.

3. "We are delighted to be part of this alliance working to transform our healthcare system," Lisa Simpson, AcademyHealth president and CEO, said in a prepared statement. "The overlap in our missions makes this a natural partnership and we are excited to work together to get actionable evidence into the hands of decision makers when and how they need it to improve health and healthcare."
