Cleveland Clinic and Woonsocket, R.I.-based CVS Health expanded their eight-year clinical affiliation July 25 to better coordinate patient care and services for patients in northeast Ohio and Florida, according to Drug Store News.
Through the updated partnership, the organizations will collaborate to streamline and enhance patient communication by incorporating several features into their EHRs, including electronic message sharing and alerts about prescription information. Providers at both organizations will have access to the information through their EHR systems.
In addition, Cleveland Clinic and CVS Health will develop joint clinical programs aimed at addressing chronic diseases such as hypertension and assisting patients with their medication.
CVS will also become a member of Cleveland Clinic's Quality Alliance, an integrated network of providers that share quality measures and procedures focused on chronic disease management.
The financial terms of the agreement, if any, were not disclosed.
