Clarendon Health System in Manning, S.C., has approved a management agreement with Florence, S.C.-based McLeod Health, according to a Manning Live report.
The agreement, approved Tuesday, details the terms and working conditions that will guide how business is going to be run at Clarendon over the next six weeks to lead toward an affiliation, Clarendon board Chairman Jim Darby told Manning Live.
Under the agreement, the current hospital administration at Clarendon will step back and McLeod will manage the day-to-day operations at Clarendon.
News of the management agreement follows an in-depth assessment of the capacities of the Clarendon system relative to the marketplace. The study ultimately recommended that Clarendon needed to consider an affiliation.
Clarendon initially passed a letter of intent during the March meeting, and the board then moved forward into talks of terms with McLeod, Mr. Darby said, according to the report. The next step was the management agreement.
