The boards of directors of Morristown, N.J.-based Atlantic Health System and Chilton Hospital in Pompton Plains, N.J., have agreed to merge Chilton Hospital and its affiliated Chilton Health Network facilities with Atlantic Health System.
Chilton Hospital will join Atlantic Health System's Morristown Medical Center, Overlook Medical Center in Summit, N.J., Newton (N.J.) Medical Center and Goryeb Children's Hospital in Morristown. The merger is pending a due diligence phase and is subject to regulatory review but is expected to be completed in 2013, according to the release.
Earlier this week, Atlantic Health System announced an alliance with Flemington, N.J.-based Hunterdon Healthcare System.
