The Billings (Mont.) Clinic and the Aurora-based Children's Hospital Colorado formalized a care alliance to provide children and families visiting both institutions the highest level of coordinated medical care.
Under the alliance, physicians and administrative liaisons from Children's Colorado perinatology, neonatology and pediatric specialty care will visit the Billings Clinic quarterly to assist with case reviews, protocol enhancement and training. Physicians from both facilities will be able to collaborate via telemedicine initiatives to share their expertise.
"We have a long standing partnership with Children's Hospital Colorado given their impeccable reputation for innovation, research and compassionate subspecialty pediatric care," said Michelle Pierson, MD, chair of pediatrics at the Billings Clinic. "The care alliance gives us the opportunity to strengthen that partnership with one of the leading quaternary hospitals in the country and tap into their expertise at a higher level, giving our pediatricians and pediatric specialists new tools to provide care for children and adolescents with complex conditions right here at home."
"Children's Colorado is proud to partner with Billings Clinic in this care alliance. The pediatric expertise of Children's Colorado complements an already rich balance of pediatric specialists, many of whom trained at Children's Colorado," said Gil Peri, chief strategy officer for Children's Hospital Colorado. "Our collective goal is to support the pediatric care providers at Billings Clinic and streamline the coordination of care when a patient needs care that can't be provided in the local community."
