Baptist Health in Little Rock, Ark., and Hot Spring County Medical Center in Malvern, Ark., have entered into a long-term lease agreement, effective Jan. 1, 2014.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Baptist Health and HSC Medical Center have been in discussions regarding an operating and management agreement throughout the past year. The 72-bed, county-owned HSC Medical Center had been looking for a partner since early 2012 due to cuts in government reimbursements.
The hospital will be renamed Baptist Health Medical Center-Hot Spring County, becoming Baptist Health's eighth hospital.
