Miami-based Baptist Health South Florida completed its merger with Boynton Beach, Fla.-based Bethesda Health Oct. 1 after two and a half years of negotiations.
The merged entity will consist of 10 hospitals, 40-plus physician practices and an estimated 50 outpatient facilities.
The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
"During these ever-changing times in the healthcare industry, hospitals across the country are positioning themselves to strengthen their capabilities in patient care and enhance their resources. This partnership with Baptist Health gives our community expanded access to healthcare services," said Bethesda Health President and CEO Roger L. Kirk.
