Coral Gables-based Baptist Health South Florida has acquired a majority interest in Northpoint Surgery Center in West Palm Beach, Fla., according to a news release.
Here are four things to know about the deal.
1. The acquisition occurred through a recent alliance between Baptist Health South Florida and AmSurg, a surgery center management company, and physician owner/investors.
2. The 13,000-square-foot Northpoint features five operating rooms, as well as two procedural endoscopy suites and a dedicated pain management suite. Physicians at Northpoint are specialized in performing outpatient procedures for:
- Gastroenterology
- General surgery
- Ear, nose and throat
- Gynecology and infertility
- Oculoplastic surgery
- Ophthalmology
- Oral surgery
- Orthopedics
- Pain management
- Pediatric surgery
- Plastic and reconstructive surgery
- Podiatry: foot and ankle surgery
- Urology
3. Northpoint represents Baptist Health South Florida's first outpatient surgery center in Palm Beach County, Fla.
4.
