Jacksonville, Fla.-based Baptist Health, Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, Fla., and Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick have formed a regional alliance called Coastal Community Health.
Here are five things to know about the alliance.
1. The three organizations said they are forming the alliance to enhance care and benefit communities.
2. Several key initiatives of Coastal Community Health will focus on wellness, patient education, chronic disease management and care coordination.
3. To drive measurable improvements, 12 collaborative workgroups comprised of leadership from each of the three health systems are looking at various initiatives to benefit adults and children in the communities served. Some include enhancing child health services, telehealth for adults and children, disaster planning and closing gaps in care.
4. The three health systems will continue to operate independently as locally governed, community-focused health systems.
5. Baptist Health President and CEO Hugh Greene will serve as initial CEO of Coastal Community Health. Joe Gordy and Michael Scherneck will serve as executive vice presidents of the alliance. All three will maintain their roles as CEOs of their respective health systems.
