Baptist Health Care, a four-hospital system based in Pensacola, Fla., has joined the Mayo Clinic Care Network.
Baptist is the first health system in northwest Florida to join the network, which allows providers to access Mayo Clinic resources.
Baptist is still locally owned, and the move is clinically based "to improve the healthcare throughout the region with high-quality, evidence-based medical care and treatment," said Mark Faulkner, president and CEO of Baptist, in a news release.
