Aurora Health Care to operate clinics at select Walgreens locations

Milwaukee, Wis.-based Aurora Health Care will own, operate and provide clinical services at eight Walgreens retail health clinics across eastern Wisconsin by the end of spring 2017.

Aurora Health Care officials said five retail clinics will transition ownership and that the health system will open three new retail clinics. Deerfield, Ill.-based Walgreens will continue to own and operate the five clinics until the transition process begins.

All of the sites will be rebranded as Aurora QuickCare Clinics at Walgreens.

Under the agreement, the two organizations will form a collaborative council to discover more efficient ways to serve residents of eastern Wisconsin. The clinics will provide a variety of services, including diagnosing common health concerns such as bronchitis and minor rashes and administering flu, pneumonia and meningitis vaccines, pregnancy tests, tuberculosis tests and sports physicals.
