Eight healthcare systems are interested in affiliating with Audrain Medical Center in Mexico, Mo., according to a Vandalia Leader report.
The names of the eight healthcare systems were not released. Audrain Medical Center is interested in modeling its affiliation after Branson, Mo.-based Skaggs Regional Medical Center's recently approved merger with Springfield, Mo.-based CoxHealth, according to the report.
Skaggs Regional and CoxHealth are following a member substitution model, which allows Skaggs to retain its hospital board with CoxHealth acting as a parent company. In addition, each organization will have representation on the other's board, which allows them to act as one entity for contracting, recruitment and growth.
