Aria Health, a three-hospital system based in Philadelphia, recently put out a request for proposals seeking interest from potential partners, according to a Philadelphia Business Journal report.
Although the partnership could take the form of a merger, Aria released a statement to the Philadelphia Business Journal saying it has not decided what the structure of a potential partnership would be. The organization expects to make a decision on whether to pursue a partnership and what type of partnership to pursue by late summer 2015, according to the report.
There have been a number of hospital and health system mergers in Philadelphia in recent months. In early May, Jefferson University Hospitals completed a merger with Abington (Pa.) Health, creating an entity known as Jefferson Health. In April, University of Pennsylvania Health System finalized its acquisition of Lancaster (Pa.) General Health, a three-hospital system.
