Maryville, Ill.-based Anderson Hospital and Staunton, Ill.-based Community Memorial Hospital have signed a letter of intent to form a partnership.
The two nonprofit hospitals are 30 miles apart, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Through the partnership, Anderson Hospital and Community Memorial Hospital plan to strengthen healthcare in the communities they serve.
The letter of intent has launched a due diligence process, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year. More details of the proposed affiliation will be defined in the coming months. Options for the partnership include Community Memorial becoming part of the "Anderson Hospital family," said Keith Page, president and CEO of Anderson Hospital.
