In a $16.5 million transaction, AMN Healthcare, a San Diego-based company that provides healthcare workforce solutions and staffing services, has acquired Omaha, Neb.-based Avantas, which offers comprehensive healthcare consulting and scheduling software.
In addition to the initial payment of $16.5 million, the purchase price also includes an earn-out potential of up to $8.5 million "based on future operating performance," according to the news release.Cash on hand and borrowings under AMN's revolving credit facility are the funding mechanisms for the acquisition, the release reads.
Avantas CEO Chris Fox called the deal "a terrific opportunity to leverage the strengths of two best-in-industry companies."
