Minneapolis-based Allina Health extended its health insurance partnership with Bloomington, Minn.-based HealthPartners.
In 2010, the organizations formed the Northwest Metro Alliance, which allowed more than 300,000 patients with HealthPartners or Medicaid insurance to receive care at five Allina Health clinics, four HealthPartners clinics and Coon Rapids, Minn.-based Mercy Health and its affiliated clinics. The organizations extended the collaboration through 2019.
"This partnership was the first of its kind in our region to coordinate the resources of two organizations to achieve the triple aim," said Mary Brainerd, president and CEO of HealthPartners. "We're pleased to be able to build on the work of the past seven years to improve care, provide an outstanding experience and make care more affordable for the patients we serve."
