Allegiance Health in Jackson, Mich., has signed a letter of intent to join Henry Ford Health System, a five-hospital system based in Detroit.
By joining Henry Ford Health System, Allegiance Health — a single-hospital system — will be able to expand its services, build clinical capacity and improve its facilities and technology.
The deal also allows Henry Ford Health System to grow its network. "Joining with Allegiance Health is an important strategic step for Henry Ford as we broaden our expertise and reach beyond southeast Michigan," said Wright Lassiter III, president of Henry Ford Health System.
The organizations expect to finalize the deal in the first quarter of 2016.
