Bartlett Regional Hospital in Juneau, Alaska, has completed the acquisition of Wildflower Court, a nursing home that has served the community since 1977.
"Our organizations are coming together with one vision for the future of post-acute care in our region," Bartlett CEO David Keith said in a July 10 news releases "With Wildflower Court now fully part of Bartlett, we are a stronger and more unified health system that will strengthen Bartlett’s ability to provide seamless care to our patients and residents, their families, and communities."
The combined entity aims to address a growing need and critical gap in service in the region, according to the health system. Development of a comprehensive post-acute care service line that includes home health, hospice and long-term care will help reduce rehospitalization rates, strengthen care coordination and improve patient throughput and outcomes.
The merger will also expand the scope and quality of services in a sustainable manner by integrating operational functions and ensuring operational efficiency and affordability, according to the health system. Bartlett's current board and senior leadership team will continue in their roles for the combined entity.
