Fairbanks (Alaska) Memorial Hospital is looking to cut ties with Banner Health, ending a 15-year affiliation with the Phoenix-based health system, according to a newsminer.com report.
The Greater Fairbanks Community Hospital Foundation, which owns the hospital, is considering an affiliation with another health system. However, the health system the foundation is considering has not been disclosed, according to the report.
"As the owner of Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, the Foundation's goal has always been, to provide the community with a facility that allows us to deliver the very best medical care," said Jeff Cook, president of the hospital foundation's board of directors. "Banner Health has been a good partner for a very long time. As stewards of our community-owned hospital, the foundation is always mindful of what's best for our community."
