Deerfield, Ill.-based Surgical Care Affiliates formed two partnerships with surgical centers jointly owned by Downers Grove, Ill.-based Advocate Health Care and community physicians.
In the first agreement, SCA affiliated with Downers Grove, Ill.-based Midwest Center for Day Surgery. The agreement went into effect Dec. 1.
In the second agreement, SCA acquired Downers Grove, Ill.-based Midwest Surgical Management Group. Under the agreement, SCA assumed management responsibilities for outpatient centers across the Chicagoland area, including Naperville (Ill.) Surgical Centre, Midwest Center for Day Surgery, Tinley Woods Surgery Center in Tinley Park, Ill., and Palos Hills (Ill.) Surgery Center. The agreement also went into effect Dec. 1.
Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for Advocate Health Care Scott Powder said the partnership represents "another way Advocate continues to deliver on its commitment to increase access to high-quality, affordable care for the patients and communities [the health system] serve[s]. We believe this collaboration will allow for enhanced care coordination to more effectively meet the needs of consumers."
