Roseville, Calif.-based Adventist Health and Irvine, Calif.-based St. Joseph Health formed a joint operating company to integrate select facilities in Northern California, the organizations announced April 23.
Under the deal, five Adventist Health facilities — including 78-bed Adventist Health Ukiah (Calif.) Valley and 151-bed Adventist Health St. Helena (Calif.) — and their associated services and clinics will integrate with four St. Joseph Health facilities and the St. Joseph Home Care Network.
The proposed affiliation does not apply to 15 Adventist Health hospitals or the 50 other Providence St. Joseph Health hospitals located across the Western U.S.
Adventist Health and St. Joseph Health facilities included in the transaction will maintain their own hospital brands, licenses and employees.
Officials expect to close the deal later this year, subject to regulatory approval.
