Chillicothe, Ohio-based Adena Health System and Columbus, Ohio-based National Church Residences, a retirement community housing developer, are exploring additional partnership opportunities following the success of a joint pilot program, according to the Chillicothe Gazette.
The organizations are currently involved in a pilot program, Home for Life, created to improve the quality of care and lessen the financial cost for patients diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, according to the article.
The success of their initial partnership has prompted the organizations to launch a feasibility study examining their individual strengths, evaluating the current and future healthcare needs of the community and determining how they can jointly contribute to the lives of patients and their families in a healthy, beneficial way.
The survey will be conducted by analysts from Hamden, Conn.-based Simione Healthcare Consulting. Initial results and recommendations will be released to the organizations in November.
