The following healthcare mergers, acquisitions, partnerships and general transactions took place or were announced during the past week. 

1. Baylor Scott & White now co-owner of Texas Spine & Joint Hospital
Dallas-based Baylor Scott & White Health, along with Addison, Texas-based United Surgical Partners International, obtained joint ownership of Texas Spine & Joint Hospital in Tyler, Texas.

2. University of Chicago Medicine partners with Community Hospital of Indiana to treat high-risk pregnancies
University of Chicago Medicine partnered with Munster, Ind.-based Community Hospital to provide specialized care for expectant mothers facing high-risk pregnancies.

3. MU Health, Boone Hospital in partnership discussions
Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Mo., will exclusively explore a partnership with University of Missouri Health Care, also in Columbia.

4. Southampton Hospital joins Stony Brook Medicine
Southampton (N.Y.) Hospital, hereafter called Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, finalized an agreement to join Stony Brook (N.Y.) Medicine.

5. Health Quest adds Sharon Hospital
Health Quest, a LaGrangeville, N.Y.-based nonprofit regional group, obtained ownership of 78-bed Sharon (Conn.) Hospital.

6. LHC Group, Christus Health to form joint venture: 6 things to know
Lafayette, La.-based LHC Group, a national provider of post-acute care, and Christus Health in Irving, Texas, entered into a definitive agreement to form a joint venture.  

7. Mount Sinai partners with Contessa Health to expand home care program
New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System partnered with Nashville, Tenn.-based Contessa Health, a company that manages home acute care bundled payment programs, to expand its existing home care program to new markets.

8. Tenet sells 3 Texas hospitals to HCA
Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare completed the sale of three Texas hospitals and their related assets to Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare.

9. LabCorp to purchase Chiltern for roughly $1.2B
Burlington, N.C.-based diagnostics company LabCorp revealed plans to purchase Chiltern, a Wilmington, N.C.-based contract research organization, for about $1.2 billion in cash.
