1. CHS to divest 2 Arkansas hospitals
Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems entered into a definitive agreement to sell two Arkansas hospitals to Little Rock, Ark.-based Baptist Health.
2. UnitedHealth explores acquisition of Tenet's Conifer business
Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealth Group is one of the companies exploring an acquisition of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare's healthcare management subsidiary Conifer Health Solutions.
3. Tenet to exit Chicago market as Sanford looks to enter
Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare entered into a definitive agreement this month to sell its three remaining Chicago-area hospitals. Although Tenet plans to exit the market, Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Sanford Health may expand into Chicago.

5. Northwell, Maimonides extend strategic partnership by 2 years
Great Neck N.Y.-based Northwell Health and Maimonides Medical Center, a 711-bed facility in Brooklyn, N.Y., revealed their intent to extend their strategic partnership agreement for another two years, the organizations announced July 16.
6. Mission Health launches nonprofit foundation ahead of proposed HCA deal
Asheville, N.C.-based Mission Health launched its nonprofit private foundation, which will be funded by proceeds from the health system's sale to Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare, Mission Health announced July 16.
7. Colorado hospital secures partner to continue dentistry services
Through a new partnership with Steamboat Springs-based Northwest Colorado Health, South Routt Medical Center will be able to continue providing dental care to local residents.
8. 438-bed New York hospital nixes merger plans after 2-year search
After a two-year search for a potential affiliate, Schenectady, N.Y.-based Ellis Medicine called off its search and said it plans to remain independent.
