1. Sound Physicians to nearly double in size with Cogent Healthcare acquisition
Sound Physicians, a Tacoma, Wash.-based provider of hospitalist and post-acute physician care, announced it will now serve 80 percent more hospitals through the acquisition of Brentwood, Tenn.-based Cogent Healthcare.
2. Allegheny Health to close joint venture deal to grow hospice, home health network
Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Health Network partnered with Celtic Healthcare in Mars, Pa., to create a for-profit hospice and home health network.
3. Kindred to acquire Centerre Healthcare for $195M
Louisville, Ky.-based post-acute services provider Kindred Healthcare signed a definitive merger agreement to acquire Centerre Healthcare — an operator of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals — for approximately $195 million.
4. IASIS Healthcare signs definitive agreement to sell North Vista Hospital
Franklin, Tenn.-based IASIS Healthcare signed a definitive agreement to sell 177-bed North Vista Hospital in Las Vegas to Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare Services.
5. Kennedy Health System, RadNet launch diagnostic imaging network
Kennedy Health System in southern New Jersey and Los Angeles-based RadNet announced the launch of Garden State Radiology Network, a medical imaging joint venture.
6. CHS to sell Riverview Regional Medical Center to Prime Healthcare
Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems signed a definitive agreement to sell substantially all of the assets of Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, Ala., and its related outpatient services to Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare Services.
7. Bert Fish Medical Center in exclusive partnership talks with Florida Hospital
The board that oversees Bert Fish Medical Center in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., voted to only engage in partnership discussions with Florida Hospital in Tampa.
