1. OSF HealthCare Acquires Kewanee Hospital
OSF HealthCare, based in Peoria, Ill., signed a definitive agreement to acquire Kewanee (Ill.) Hospital.

2. Massachusetts Approves Beth Israel Deaconess, Jordan Hospital Transaction
After months of review, the Massachusetts Public Health Council signed off on the pending transaction between Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and Jordan Health Systems, parent company of Jordan Hospital in Plymouth, Mass.

3. Lafayette General Health, Bunkie General Hospital Affiliate
Lafayette (La.) General Health and Bunkie (La.) General Hospital formed a clinical affiliation to expand patient services.

4. Preparing for New Hospital Opening, Mercy Health Aims to Sell 2 Facilities
Next Month, Mercy Health in Cincinnati will open the $270 million West Hospital, a 250-bed hospital on the west side of Cincinnati, and in the process, the system is attempting to sell two of its other hospitals.

5. Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Talks to Take Over Interfaith
Officials at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, a major teaching hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y., are in negotiations with leaders at Interfaith Medical Center, also in Brooklyn, to possibly take over the bankrupt hospital.

6. Catholic Health Initiatives Signs Deal to Acquire Mercy Hot Springs
Chesterfield, Mo.-based Mercy signed a nonbinding letter of intent with Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives to transfer ownership of Mercy Hospital Hot Springs (Ark.).
