1. Trustees' committee signs off on Penn State Hershey, PinnacleHealth plan
Penn State announced a plan is in place for Penn State Milton S. Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center and Harrisburg, Pa.-based PinnacleHealth System to form a new health enterprise.
2. Mayo Clinic brings expertise to China with new joint venture
Mayo Clinic will extend its reach to China under a joint venture agreement that will establish a company in Beijing to improve healthcare delivery and efficiency.
3. Stony Brook University Hospital, Southampton Hospital merger approved
The merger between Stony Brook (N.Y.) University Hospital and Southampton (N.Y.) Hospital was unanimously approved by a State University of New York trustees committee.
4. Hospital Sisters Health System, Prevea Health join Integrated Health Network of Wisconsin
Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System and Green Bay, Wis.-based Prevea Health finalized an agreement to join Brookfield, Wis.-based Integrated Health Network of Wisconsin, a clinically integrated network of major health systems and the Medical College of Wisconsin.
5. White Plains Hospital now part of Montefiore Health System
Montefiore Health System, based in Bronx, N.Y., added White Plains (N.Y.) Hospital to its network upon receiving approval form the New York State Health Commissioner.
