Four leading hospital systems in Delaware have formed a strategic partnership to increase access to healthcare services and to improve the quality and affordability of care to residents of the state.
Named eBrightHealth, the alliance consists of four health systems: Dover-based Bayhealth Medical Center, Lewes-based Beebe Healthcare, Newark-based Christina Care Health System and Seaford-based Nanticoke Health Services.
The goal of the alliance is to share best practices and innovations among the partners to raise the quality of care and improve patient experience while reducing the costs. The partnership will specifically focus on employee health plan care coordination, clinical initiatives that create transformation in care delivery, IT enhancements and group purchasing arrangements to share risks and lower costs, according to the article.
Each member of the alliance will maintain its operating independence as well as all of its services.
The agreement also names a board of managers to oversee the alliance's initiatives, which will include the board chairs and CEOs of each participating system. The eBrightHealth chair and CEO will be a rotating position. The first to hold the position will be Nanticoke's CEO Steven Rose.
