Three possible entities could take over the current operating license for Yadkinville, N.C.-based Yadkin Valley Community Hospital, according to a Time Warner Cable News report.
Plano, Texas-based Community Hospital Corporation, Elkin, N.C.-based Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital, and Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center have all submitted proposals to run the facility, which is owned by Yadkin County.
County officials expect to approve a contract with one of the three candidates by April 20. That is 10 days before the expiration of the contract between the hospital and Kansas City, Mo.-based HMC/CAH Consolidated, which currently runs the facility, according to the report.
But until then, the future is uncertain for about 150 workers, as there is no guarantee that that a new company will keep all the current employees, the report reads.
The county anticipates that a new company will be in place May 1.
