1. Lehigh Valley Health Network to merge with another Pennsylvania system
East Stroudsburg, Pa.-based Pocono Health System and Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pa., signed a letter of intent to merge.
2. KishHealth System looks to partner with Northwestern Memorial: 3 things to know
KishHealth System in DeKalb, Ill., signed a letter of intent to explore an affiliation with Chicago-based Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, an academic health system whose entities operate as Northwestern Medicine.
3. West Georgia Health to Join WellStar Health System
LaGrange-based West Georgia Health signed a formal letter of intent to join with Marietta, Ga.-based WellStar Health System, the largest nonprofit community health system in the state.
4. Merit Health expands footprint by adding another Mississippi hospital
Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg, Miss., officially became a member of Jackson, Miss.-based Merit Health, which is now comprised of 12 hospitals, making it Mississippi's largest healthcare system.
5. ValleyCare becomes subsidiary of Stanford Health Care
Pleasanton, Calif.-based ValleyCare Health System and Stanford (Calif.) Health Care finalized their affiliation agreement.
6. Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, local Trinity Health organizations create Saint Joseph Health System
Mishawaka, Ind.-based Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center and several other local healthcare organizations under parent company Trinity Health, based in Livonia, Mich., are merging to create one coordinated health system called Saint Joseph Health System.
7. Bon Secours Charity Health System joins forces with Westchester Medical Center
Suffern, N.Y.-based Bon Secours Charity Health System and Westchester Medical Center, a Valhalla, N.Y.-based safety-net hospital, signed a joint venture agreement with a goal of providing improved health services in their region.
8. Mercy Medical Center-Des Moines to acquire Skiff Medical Center
Mercy Medical Center - Des Moines and Skiff Medical Center, a 48-bed hospital in Newton, Iowa, reached an agreement for Skiff to become a fully owned Mercy hospital.
9. Piedmont Healthcare to add Newton Medical Center to network
Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare and Covington, Ga.-based Newton Medical Center announced both organizations have agreed to terms of a long-term lease agreement to add Newton to the Piedmont system.
10. LifePoint signs joint venture agreement with Wisconsin hospital
Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health signed a definitive agreement to form a joint venture with Watertown (Wis.) Regional Medical Center.
11. Tufts, Boston Medical Center call off merger talks
Boston Medical Center, the largest safety-net hospital in Massachusetts, and Tufts Medical Center in Boston scrapped their merger plans.
12. Hackensack University Health Network, Meridian Health approve merger
Hackensack (N.J.) University Health Network and Neptune, N.J.-based Meridian Health signed a definitive agreement for the two health systems to merge and become Hackensack Meridian Health.
13. Marshfield Clinic Health System joining AboutHealth
Marshfield (Wis.) Clinic Health System is joining AboutHealth, the statewide healthcare organization that includes seven other health systems.
14. Nobilis acquires Victory Healthcare Plano Hospital
Houston-based Nobilis Health entered into an asset purchase agreement to acquire Victory Healthcare Plano (Texas) Hospital.
15. Waterbury Hospital unveils new plans after failed Tenet deal
Waterbury (Conn.) Hospital announced Prospect Medical Holdings, a for-profit hospital operator based in Los Angeles, is interested in acquiring it, making PMH the third potential buyer for the hospital in five years.
16. Washington Health System looks to expand network
Brentwood, Tenn.-based RegionalCare Hospital Partners entered into an agreement with Washington (Pa.) Health System to transfer ownership of Southwest Regional Medical Center in Waynesburg, Pa., to WHS.
17. Samaritan Regional Health System, University Hospitals to explore affiliation
Cleveland-based University Hospitals and Ashland, Ohio-based Samaritan Regional Health System signed a letter of intent to integrate SRHS into the UH system.
18. NJ health commissioner approves Prime Healthcare's purchase of St. Clare's Health System
Mary O'Dowd, state health commissioner of New Jersey, approved the sale of Denville, N.J.-based St. Clare's Health System to Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare Services.
19. Abington Health, Jefferson University Hospitals finalize merger
Abington (Pa.) Health and Philadelphia-based Jefferson University Hospitals completed their merger.
20. BJC acquires Missouri hospital from Capella
BJC HealthCare, a nonprofit system based in St. Louis, finalized an agreement to purchase Farmington, Mo.-based Mineral Area Regional Medical Center from Capella Healthcare, based in Franklin, Tenn.
21. Scripps, Pioneers Memorial Hospital in affiliation negotiations
The board of directors of Brawley, Calif.-based Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District voted to pursue an affiliation arrangement with San Diego-based Scripps Health.
22. Trinity Health expands network in New York
Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health and St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center in Syracuse, N.Y., entered into a definitive agreement for St. Joseph's to join Trinity's network.
23. Lafayette General Health partners with Ochsner Health System
Lafayette (La.) General Health and New Orleans-based Ochsner Health System formed a strategic partnership focused on increasing access to care, improving quality and reducing healthcare costs.
