The following hospital mergers, acquisitions and general transactions took place within the past week, beginning with the most recent.

1. St. Vincent Health, Monroe Hospital Discontinue Management Agreement
Indianapolis-based St. Vincent Health and Monroe Hospital in Bloomington, Ind., discontinued their management agreement, although they will maintain clinical affiliations.

2. Partners, Hallmark Health Talk Merger
In 2012, Boston-based Partners HealthCare and Melrose, Mass.-based Hallmark Health System signed a memorandum of understanding to merge, and the two entities may be closing in on an agreement.

3. Memorial Medical Center, Spectrum Health Complete Affiliation
Memorial Medical Center in Ludington, Mich., officially integrated with Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Mich., and became Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital.

4. Lakes Regional Healthcare, Avera Health Agree to Affiliate
Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa, entered into an affiliation agreement with Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Avera Health.

5. PIH Health Officially Acquires Downey Regional Medical Center
Whittier, Calif.-based PIH Health officially acquired Downey (Calif.) Regional Medical Center, which will now be known as PIH Health Hospital-Downey.

6. 3 Maryland Hospitals Sign LOI to Form Regional Alliance
Three Maryland hospital systems — Frederick (Md.) Regional Health System, Meritus Health in Hagerstown and Western Maryland Health System in Cumberland — signed a letter of intent to create a regional collaboration focused on cost reduction and population health management for western Maryland patients.

7. UC Irvine Health, MemorialCare Health Strike Affiliation
UC Irvine Health in Orange, Calif., and MemorialCare Health System in Fountain Valley, Calif., entered into an affiliation agreement to enhance primary care in the region through new primary care health centers.

8. Eastern Maine Healthcare, Mercy Health Merger Gets Green Light
Maine health officials approved the certificate of need between Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems in Brewer and Mercy Health System in Portland, thus finalizing the organizations' proposed affiliation.

9. Central Maine HealthCare Cites "Hostile" Review in Withdrawal of Parkview Bid
Officials at Central Maine HealthCare in Lewiston sent a letter to Maine's Department of Licensing and Regulatory Services, announcing it has withdrawn its application for a certificate of need to acquire Parkview Adventist Medical Center in Brunswick, Maine.

10. McKenzie Health System Affiliates With Marlette Regional Hospital
McKenzie Health System, based in Sandusky, Mich., and Marlette (Mich.) Regional Hospital finalized their affiliation, which started loosely in 2010.

11. HCA Completes Purchase of IASIS' Florida Hospitals
Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corp. of America completed its purchase of three Florida hospitals from Franklin, Tenn.-based IASIS Healthcare.

12. Baylor Health Care System, Scott & White Complete Merger
Dallas-based Baylor Health Care System and Temple, Texas-based Scott & White Healthcare completed their merger, forming the largest nonprofit health system in Texas.

13. Boscobel Area Hospital Officially Becomes Gundersen Affiliate
Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, Wis., and Boscobel (Wis.) Area Health Care completed their affiliation agreement, and the 25-bed critical access hospital is now known as Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinics.

14. Citrus Memorial Hospital Boards Vote for HCA Ownership
Officials at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, Fla., voted in favor of a sale or lease to Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corp. of America.

15. Tenet Closes on $4.3B Vanguard Acquisition
Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare Corp. completed its merger with Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanguard Health Systems, receiving all regulatory approval for the deal.

16. New York City's New Behemoth: Mount Sinai, Continuum Close Merger Deal
The Mount Sinai Medical Center and Continuum Health Partners, both based in New York City, completed their merger and formed a new integrated health system called the Mount Sinai Health System.
